Efficient insulation
Super efficient insulation (U-value down to 0.025) actively bringing solar heat stored in the liquid thermal mass to the building envelope in the form of soap bubbles that fill the cavity in minutes, adapting to weather, seasons, and climate, and renewed or removed at ease as required. Provides optimal thermal comfort, energy savings and natural light at comparably very low cost.
Dynamic shading
Soap bubbles can also used for shading to replace curtains and still bring plenty of nicely scattered natural light into the interior.
Heat collection
The building envelope acts as a solar collector by circulating soap water or alge culture at will, with or without bubbles. Enhances energy efficiency and adds an energy production potential by harnessing solar power without the need of batteries. Water circulate in the building envelope also for cooling and humidity control. The size of the thermal mass dictates the overall energy balanse.
Advanced energy system
With optimal use and design, we achieve clean room capabilities. This overcome the current challenge of over 60% of the CO2 feed to plants in greenhouses escapes through the ventilation. It makes it possible to capture the clean transpiration from the plants, estimated to be about 10 liter per m2 per day in hot climates. SolaRoof is also very suitable for low cost production of algae by allowing sun expose to take place in a structure which has multiple other purposes.
